ADDITIONAL ISSUES RAISED AT PACT MEETING ON 4TH MAY 2010
Please find below additional issues raised at the recent Pact meeting which were not voted in as Pact priorities but are being looked into by the Safer Vale Partnership and the Llantwit Neighbourhood Policing Team.
CCTV CAMERA
- Concern was raised at the last PACT meeting regarding the visibility of the CCTV camera on Boverton Road at the precinct in relation to nearby planted trees. This has been followed up with the Safer Vale team who are currently evaluating the best course of action together with the Town Council.
TRUANCY
- Residents have noticed children of varying ages, but mainly Comprehensive age out on the streets during school hours. PCSO Matt Woodman will be discussing this with School Liaison Officer, PC Meriel Blake and the Attendance Officer at Llantwit Major Comprehensive as part of Youth PACT.
POTHOLES
- The issue of potholes was raised at the PACT meeting. It was explained that the problem has occurred across the Vale of Glamorgan resulting from the adverse weather conditions at the beginning of the year. Further funding has been given to this issue but they are assessed and prioritised across the Vale as a whole and not by individual wards. PC Malone noted details of particularly bad areas and will complete the relevant paperwork which will then be sent to the Vale of Glamorgan Highways Dept for follow up.
YOUTH ANNOYANCE
- Residents around Crawshay Drive are concerned about Youth Annoyance and children playing football on public highways. PCSO Matt Woodman is investigating these concerns, and will be dealt with via Anti-Social Behaviour Orders. Lesson plans are also being drawn up by the School Liaison Officer and it is hoped that we will be able to get the “V” Bus to come to Llantwit, which is a fully interactive bus with computers, games and all the latest technology and is run by youth workers.
