Nant-y-moel
ward covers
Nantymoel is part of the Ogmore Valley in Bridgend.
Nantymoel is situated at the top of the Ogmore Valley, approximately 6 miles from Bryncethin and the M4 Motorway. It covers from Vale View Terrace, to Aber Houses and has around 3500 residents. From Nantymoel you can take the Bwlch Mountain Road, where you can travel to the Llynfi Valley, Treorchy, as well as Port Talbot. Nantymoel, along with the entire Valley, has strong mining links and remnants of the several collieries in the area can still be seen when passing through.”

PACT Projects
To view information on a PACT Project click the link. The current PACT Projects are:
- High visibility reassurance involving First Cymru Bus Service
- Towards the end of last year the late night bus services were removed due to the issues that were being experienced in the Nantymoel area of the Ogmore Valley. These issues ranged from items being thrown at the buses as well as the emergency engine stop button being pressed whilst the bus was stopped.
The Ogmore Valley NPT set up OPERATOIN BENEDICT in order to combat this issue. This involved high visibility patrolling at the key areas where anti-social behaviour was taking place, as well as patrolling on the buses themselves. The Operation was a success with over 25 ASB referrals given out and the number of incidents reported involving the buses being reduced to zero over the last 6 months.
This project is being set up in order to continue the reassurance that has already been provided to the drivers of the buses and to make convincing case to First Cymru Bus Service to re-instate the late buses on the Friday and Saturday nights. The original issue of anti-social behaviour has been resolved as far as incidents being reported. As stated earlier, the aim of this project is to continue the reassurance provided to bus drivers who work in the Ogmore Valley. This will primarily involve travelling on the buses throughout the valley, speaking with the drivers and making sure that there are no further issues or concerns.
