Cyfarthfa ward covers

The Cyfarthfa ward area covers predominately the areas of Twyncarmel, Castle park and Gellideg Estates stretching from the College car park of Merthyr Town Centre to the heads of the valley road to Beacon Heights estate and west across the Winchfawr. It also covers the areas of Heolgerrig, Ynys Fach and Cae Penderyn Estates and also encompasses the Rhydycar Leisure Village complex.

The ward currently has approximately 2,402 properties with a population of over 6,500 residents.

  • Initative to reduce Anti Social Behaviour
    Cyfartha Ward NPT has been working hard to tackle the recent Anti Social Behaviour in the Gellideg and Twyncarmel areas.It has been a PACT priority for August and September so on a Friday evening when Anti Social Behaviour is at his highest we would take
    Operation Bang is now commencing in the run up to Halloween and Bonfire events.

    Please see the following tips to help preventing yourself becoming a victim of someone who attends in your street or doorstep offering a service which will turn out to be totally inadequate and cost you far more than the real cost of the service provided.
  • Hate Crime Awareness Week 13th - 17th October 2014
    This campaign is taking place to raise awareness of what a hate crime is and the impacts on victims and communities.
  • Street Briefing
    The Cyfartha Ward Neighbourhood Policing Team will be conducting a street briefing at Llwyncelyn Close, Merthyr Tydfil at 1700 Hours on Tuesday 2nd October 2014.All residents are welcome to attend and meet there community team to raise any issues or crime
