- >> PACT Update - 02/09/2010
- A multi agency meeting was held at Barry Fire Station and ideas put forward by the group are being reviewed by Andrew Loosemore (Highways Department) and Miles Punter (Head of Visible Services) with a view to implementing by laws, such as no camping on the meadow and no drinking in an anti-social manner and a beach management system (i.e. a beach manager from April to Sept). These actions will be paid for by way of car parking charges. This must be approved by the Executive Board which will be meeting mid September and the details have not yet been finalised. It was highlighted by residents that there are also problems with middle field where gates have been removed as burnt and this will be investigated. PCSO Matt Woodman stated that there had only been 5 incidents logged since the end of June which is quite low and he encouraged residents to report every incident. It was agreed that this could become a PACT Project due to the length of resolution.
- >> Update - 11/08/2010
- On Monday 9th August 2010 at 10.00am a meeting was held at the Safer Vale offices to find a suitable solution to the problems at Llantwit Major beach regarding anti-social behaviour.
The meeting was represented by police, councillors, and the community safety partnership.
A number of solutions were suggested and a report is being produced outlining suitability and potential cost of each one which will be forwarded to all parties involved in order to agree a way forward.
- >> Update - 21/07/2010
A meeting has been held with Councillor Sally Bagstaff, Councillor Eric Hacker and PCSO Matt Woodman to discuss the issue and several ideas were suggested such as implementation of an alcohol free zone across the meadow and beach, a height restriction bar to prevent camper vans from entering and leaving the meadow uncut during the summer season. These suggestions are currently being investigated with our partners in the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
