Officer/Partner BLOG:

Update 16/11/2010:

  • The Llantwit Major Comprehensive termly newsletter was distributed in conjunction with the Llantwit Major PACT Newsletter to local doctor and dentist surgeries.  We have agreed with the school that this will be a regular course of communication.  Enquiries are still continuing to secure a location within the town centre to promote good news stories, etc.

  • During the Youth PACT meeting, the idea was tabled whereby the youth PACT panel, PC Meriel Blake and PCSO Matt Woodman meet up and draft a letter to local business owners/managers and the public to promote the good work that the local youths undertake and to raise the awareness that not all youths in the area cause problems.

Update 10/01/2010:
  • During the Youth PACT meeting, the idea was tabled whereby the youth PACT panel, PC Meriel Blake and PCSO Matt Woodman meet up and draft a letter to local business owners/managers and the public to promote the good work that the local youths undertake and to raise the awareness that not all youths in the area cause problems.

Unfortunately, due to the Christmas holidays this has been delayed, but will be looked at in January when Llantwit Comprehensive return.

Update 09/03/10:

  • Following the PACT Meeting held on 9th March, it was suggested by one of the attendees that maybe the empty shop units in the town centre could be used to promote the hard work done by youths of Llantwit Major.  This is currently being explored with the Chamber of Trade and the landlord for the premises concerned.

Update 29/06/10:

  • It has been provisionally agreed that the Youth PACT can use the empty shop unit which was formerly part of Webster's Hardware.  A proposal is currently being drawn up between PCSO Matt Woodman and the Chamber of Trade to be forwarded to the landlord.
